Sunday October 10 - SHOWMANSHIP CLINIC - Clinician: Wendy Ducy and Company
8:00 - 10:00  -  Unrated and Level 1's

10:00 - 12:00 - Level 2/3/4

All children enrolled in the 4H Horse Project were invited to attend. The 4Hers learned what an exhibitor needs to remember to get yourself and your horse ready for show. They also learned the typical components of a showmanship pattern to include walking, trotting, backing, pivoting, stopping, and setting up.

Sunday November 6th, 2011 - Horsemanship Clinic
This is a mounted clinic.  It will focus on how to read, negotiate and ride a basic pattern class.

Sunday December 4th, 2011 - Natural Horsemanship Clinic
This is a 2 part clinic held at Latigo Trails Equestrian Center

Ground Work Clinic 8am – 10am

Mounted Clinic 10:00am  – Noon

  • Friendly game
  • Move off pressure

  • Lateral Flexion
  • Circle’s using body language to achieve different gaits
  • Using our body to communicate (Look, Ask, Tell)

This was a mounted clinic for Country Style Members.  It was Part 1 of a 2 part clinic on Equitation and Horsemanship and focused on how to read, negotiate and ride a basic pattern class.

We were honored to have Susan Nokelby as our clinician.  Susan has been showing for years on the APHA circuit at a State and National level.  She brought a wealth of knowledge with her as she guided our more advanced riders on how to maneuver through obstacles found on a trail course in a show.

Riding Control is a class you will see at all the shows and at this clinic you will be practicing the actual patterns you will be riding at the shows.  These patterns are posted in the back pages of the County Rulebook.

MARCH 25 - Clinic - Prepare for Your Test @ Latigo Trails

6:00 - 8:00 pm - LEVEL 1 & 2 - This clinic was awesome and went over how to prepare for level testing for both the written and riding portion.  We had both English and Western riders.

APRIL 11 - Getting Ready To Show - Unmounted Clinic @ Wilkison's Home

1:00 - 4:00 pm - This was an unmounted clinic at the Wilkison's home. 

The following important information was discussed and demonstrated:

?  What to Pack - went over what to pack in your trailer to go to the show!
?  What to Wear To The Show - on a budget!
?  Get your horse Sparkling - a demonstration on how to get your horse show ready!  Bathing, clipping, banding etc!
?  How to prep for Showmanship
?  How to Save money!  Recipes were shared on how to make your own green spot remover, show sheen and more!


APRIL 17 - Guy Vernon Reining Clinic at Vernon Ranch

12:00 - 2:00 pm  - We were honored to have World Ranked Reiner and Trainer - GUY VERNON work with us on our reining skills! 

MAY 23 - Speed Clinic at Latigo Trails Outdoor Arena

9:00 - 12:00 Noon - LEVEL 1 and Up - We had an amazing Speed Clinic by clinician Jennifer Smith.  Thank-you Jennifer!

MAY 29 - MOCK SHOW - Latigo Trails Equestrian Center

The Mock Show was a practice/schooling show. 

Ω  If you are new to showing this was a great learning experience! 
Ω  If you have been showing before, it was a great way to get your horse out after a long winter off.
